|
A stay at Casa El Mirador means that you can escape and discover the ‘Real Spain’ of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. Unwind by the pool and enjoy a BBQ then when you’re ready to go exploring, there are many interesting places to discover.
For the outdoor enthusiasts, the Parque Nacionales is 10km from the house and Lake Vinuela is only 10 minutes away. The nearest beach and water park is 25 minutes by car at Torre Del Mar and slightly further along the coast is Nerja, with several lovely beaches to enjoy. There are 2 golf courses within a 30-45 minute drive away (see other information section).
Malaga is a 1 hour drive away, and beyond there are the Western Costa Del Sol resorts such as Marbella and onwards to Gibraltar. The historical cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras are also within visiting distance.

Venta Baja is at the crossroads (about 2.5kms away). Here you'll find several good restaurants, a bakery and other shops and local amenities. Alcaucin is the whitewashed village which you can see on the mountainside from Casa El Mirador. In addition to its local bars, the pretty village of Alcaucin has a few restaurants to choose from and is nice to have a stroll around to see authentic Spanish village life.

Take the E15/ A7 from Malaga towards Almeria. Come off at junction 272 and take the A335 towards Zafarraya/ Vinuela/ Alhama. Turn right at the sign for Venta Baja and follow this road approximately 2.5 kilometres and you're at Casa El Mirador. The journey takes about 1 hour (more detailed directions are available prior to departure).

Villa is set amongst traditional olive trees. Outdoor pool 10m x 5m (not heated), patio, balcony, barbecue, garden, parking, 6 garden chairs, outdoor table, 4 sunbeds (outdoor beach towels NOT provided). Please note that the pool is not heated so is only available for use between 1st May - 31st October.

Casa El Mirador sleeps up to 6 people (4 adults and 2 children aged 14 years or under) + 1 baby as one bedroom is equipped with bunk beds. The double bedroom has an en-suite WC, shower and basin. The family bathroom features WC, bidet, shower over bath and basin. Bathroom & kitchen tea towels are supplied for use inside however we ask you to bring your own towels for use by the pool and on the beach. All reasonable heating, water and pool upkeep charges are included in the rental rates. This is a non-smoking property however you can smoke outside and there is an ashtray for this purpose only.There is a TV, DVD, BBC Freeview satellite, stereo system with CD/ radio, portable CD player for outdoor use. DVD films, books, boards games and a deck of cards provided for futher entertainment. There is also a travel cot & baby listener available which could be placed in any of the bedrooms, plus a microwave steam sterilizer for guests travelling with a baby.

Baviera Golf Course, opened in 2002, is located 25 mins drive from the villa at La Caleta de Velez and is open all year. This 18 hole, par 71, 5066 metres course was designed by the European tour professional José Maria Cañizares and has wide fairways and large, fast greens plus there are some cleverly placed water hazards which put this course in the moderately difficult bracket. Facilities include golf buggies, practice balls, pitch and putt, driving range, covered driving range, golf school, caddies, club rental, trolleys, lockers, dressing rooms, showers, club house, restaurants and a pro shop. The course enjoys magnificent views of both the sea and the mountains and is only 200 metres from the La Caleta yachting club. For further information call Baviera Golf on: 0034 952 555 015.
The Añoreta Golf Course is located 40 minutes from the villa, close to Rincón de la Victoria. This 18 hole, par 72, 5673 metre course was opened in 1990 and was also designed by José Mariá Cañizares. Situated between the mountains and the sea, this ‘Parkland styled’ course provides some spectacular scenery. The fairways are wide and the greens are good, plus there are some difficult holes making this a very challenging golf course for all level of golfers. In fact, there are eleven holes with water - including the long 528 metres third hole. Facilities include pro shop, restaurant, clubhouse, showers, changing rooms, rental clubs, trolleys, buggies, driving range, putting and chipping greens and lessons.
