Spain is famous for its flamboyant festivals involving Bulls, drums and of all things - tomatoes!
Most cities offer narrow, twisting, old streets and modern architecture. Bars serve wine from the barrel while discos roll out tunes 'til the early hours.
The landscape is generally large and flat surrounded by rugged hills; mountainous Pyrenees to the north provide a lesser-known skiing opportunity; southern beaches are long and sandy, totalling about 4000 km.
Spanish summers are clear, hot summers in central regions; more moderate and cloudy along coast. Winters are cloudy and cold in central regions; partly cloudy and cool along coast.
