The farmhouse is located in the Beiras region of Portugal which is steeped in history.The city of Coimbra is 20 mins north by car.The city used to be the capital of Portugal some 600 years ago and is the seat of the oldest university in the country.The Beiras region is famous for its fine wines and cheeses and Portuguese cuisine.Conimbriga is 10 mins drive away,the towns roman site contains some of the best preseved mosaics in Europe.The town of Tomar where the Knights Templar settled some 900 years ago is 40 kms south.

Vouzela is a quiet hamlet that dates back to the 18th century.It is set in a beautiful woodland valley that forms part of the Serra de Lousa mountains.The Hamlet is surrounded by Pine ,Oak and Eucalyptus trees with country lanes that make walking a pleasure.

Take the condeixa exit off the A1 and head for Tomar/Penela.Pass the town of Penela(on your left) and take a left at the first roundabout towards Lousa.After 200 mtrs take a right and you will arrive at Vouzela after 300 mtrs.
