LOCAL ACTIVITIES
Killorglin Sports Complex
If you are feeling energetic, then why not take a short walk down to Killorglin Sports complex and play tennis, squash or go to the gym.
Horse Riding
There are a number of Equestrian centres dotted around Killorglin, which offer pony rides, trekking both on Rossbeigh strand and up mountainous terrain.
Golfing
For those of you who love a good game of golf, you have defiantly come to the right place. Killorglin has its very own scenic 18 hole golf course or why not go further afield to the famous Dookes or Killarney 18 hole Golf Course.
Fishing
Killorglin sits pretty on the river Laune, which is famous for salmon fishing. If fishing sounds too much like hard work, why not sample the mouth watering smoked salmon from the Fishery restaurant perched on the river laune.
Walking/Cycling/Hiking
Killorglin is home to Ireland's highest mountain, the McGillycuddy Reeks and of course my ancestors as I am a McGillycuddy! So if you enjoy hiking, walking or mountain biking, then this is the place to go.
Rossbeigh
Rossbeigh beach located only 8 miles from Killorglin is perfect for a refreshing swim if weather permits! Or why not stroll along Rossbeigh's 7 miles of sandy beach. This is one beach defiantly worth a visit even on the coldest day of the year.
Ring of Kerry
Killorglin is the gateway to the Ring of Kerry, which takes you along the scenic breath-taking Iveragh Peninsula. Why not stop off for a pint of Guiness in one of the many charming fishing villages and towns such as Caherciveen, Waterville, Sneem, Kenmare or Killarney.
Killarney
Killarney is only 12 miles from Killorglin and worth visiting. This town is ideal for finding souvenirs for your many family and friends. Why not take a romantic stroll along the Lakes of Killarney, Muckross Garden or the National Park and admire the superb views which Killarney has to offer.
Glencar
is a haven of tranquillity tucked away in the rugged mountains of South Kerry. Glencar is only a short drive from Killorglin and offers the active tourist mountain climbing, hiking, cycling and walking.
