|
Located in the North of the Deux Sèvres with many tourist sites and activities within easy reach including the Puy du Fou (45mins) and Futuroscope (1hr). The coast is about 90 minutes away as are the Chateau of the Loire. The Anjou wine region is about 40 minutes drive. The region has a mild micro-climate and is deemed to be the second sunniest region in France benefiting from the warmth of the La Rochelle basin.

|
Bressuire has a weekly market on a Tuesday morning. The chateau is well worth a visit and regularly has exhibitions together with a biennial Highland Games organised by the twinning associations.
Sporting facilities within 10 minutes drive include tennis, swimming and fishing at the world-renowned centre of Pescalis at Moncoutant. There is an abundance of local wildlife including many rare bird species.

Full driviing instructions can be given at time of booking. We are easy to find. St Sauveur is 5km from Bressuire. Upon reaching the village just follow the signs to the 12thC Church - (Eglise XII) and the cottage will be found 50m from the historic church itself.

Double doors from the dining room lead into the pretty garden where there is a central rose bed and flower borders with gravel pathway. A small area of lawn and a colourful banked area with daffodils in spring and old fashioned flower selection in summer. The paved terrace offers shady dining in summer under the hazelnut tree. BBQ. The garden is safe and securely fenced with gated access on three sides. Bicycles available – please request at time of booking.

The front door leads directly into the Lounge which is comfortably furnished with a two-seater settee and two armchairs. TV, video and DVD player. Local TV channels. Radio Cassette/CD player.
The Dining Room has a table and six chairs. The Kitchen is fitted and fully equipped. There is an electric cooker, washing machine, fridge, microwave and coffee filter. Double doors lead out into the garden.
Shower Room. Corner shower cubicle, wash hand basin, WC.
Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor hallway with a Family Bedroom [sleeps 3]. The room is L-shaped with a king size bed and a single bed. Built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers, bedside tables with lamps. Clock radio.
En-suite bathroom. Full size bath with shower. Pedestal wash hand basin and WC.
From JULY 2009 we will also be able to offer a second twin bedroom with ensuite cloakroom and mezzanine study area. The accommodation will then sleep max 5 guests.

The old railway between Bressuire and Parthenay has been converted into a walking/cycling or horse riding path giving 30km+ of safe riding.
The village has a public lake for fishing.
