|
On the borders of Brittany and Normandy, it is a beautiful scenic region with lots to do. There are very interesting towns within easy reach - Rennes, St Malo, Granville, Dinard and Bayeux. Mont Saint Michel is 20 mins away as is the nearest beach, or you can go a little farther to cancale in Brittany which has large sandy beaches and feast on the famous sea-food - a huge number of restaurants in this region. It is golfing, fishing and cycling country too - lots of walking and cycle trails, 7 golf courses. The forest of Fougeres with a swimming lake is 20 mins.

|
Le Ferre is a small village. It has a patisserie and bar/tabac called the St Christoph. The new parton here does a very cheap menu at just 5euros to take away - incredible value for just one course of good French home cooking. In the village by the mairie you can play tennis for free. There is a large antique shop too.
3km away is the lively market town of St James in Normandy. Market day is Monday. There are 3 good restaurants and a fabulous pizzeria that does take aways. There is a doctors surgery and large supermarket, plenty of walks and a famous American WW2 cemetary

There are 2 large swimming pools - Fougeres and Avranches. There are 2 fun aqua parks, Champrepus zoo and a lovely botanical garden not far away. Dol de Bretagne is much visited - 15 mins away. Very popular region with holiday seekers and house hunters.
