The west coast of the Cotenten peninsular with its miles and miles of unspoilt wide safe sandy beaches and small fishing villages is within twenty minutes drive from the house. The charming popular resort of Agon Coutainville is 30 minutes away and the ancient town of Granville, home of the pirates for hundreds of years is 45 minutes by car.
For those with an interest in history the invasion beaches of Normandy are 45 minutes to the east. Following Le Choc the route of the American invasion forces in this part of Normandy, and further west to the British and Canadian beaches. The whole area is steeped in history going back centuries to the castles and cathedrals of William the conqueror and Richard the Lionheart. So much history set in magnificent countryside and reached along the quiet roads of France that make driving so pleasant in this part of the world.

The hamlet of Vaudrimesnil lies in the Parc naturel régional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin, in the Manche region of Normandy. It is quiet and very peaceful, perfect for a relaxing family holiday away from the crowds.
The charming local market town of Perier has all the usual facilities for your day to day requirements. For more comprehensive requirements hypermarkets etc, Coutance the local major town is six miles to the south and has all you could possibly require. Plus it has two wonderful ancient cathedrals, squares, gardens, shops and pavement cafes typical of France.

The house is convenient for Caen (60 mins.), Bayeux (45 mins.), St. Lo (30 mins.), the Normandy Landing Beaches (45 mins.), Cherbourg (60 mins.), Mont St. Michel (under 1 1/2 hours) and Paris (under 3 hours). If you arrive at other entry points, Le Havre is about 2 hours away and Calais and the Channel Tunnel about 4 ,1/2 hours

Locally there is an excellent amusement park with golf course, boating lake, crazygolf, driving range, miniature train and model village. Close by there are five large lakes for Carp, Trout, Pike and many more.
Golf, sea fishing, walking cycling are all easily available in the local area. The beaches of the west coast are wide sandy and safe. All along the coast are small fishing villages and harbours typical of France. From Granville or further to the north at Carteret you can take ferries to the Channel Islands which lie just off the coast.
