Chez Denis sits in its own private grounds of 5 acres located on the edge of a small village. There are rolling hills and woods all around. Both the house and gite have been restored to provide every modern comfort, while retaining all the charm of the original stonework, wood beamed ceilings and stone floors.
Relax in this beautiful setting in the rolling Dordogne countryside. Enjoy the top class food at local restaurants, canoe down the River Dronne, or visit the many interesting attractions and picturesque villages.
The Dordogne is an enchantingly attractive region of south west France, offering all kinds of sights and attractions.
There are spectacular caves and pre-historic cave paintings. There are outstandingly picturesque and quaint villages and amazing rock formations.
The river Dordogne itself offers some of the most beautiful scenery in France, but the Dordogne is only one of several attractive rivers in the region.
The River Dronne, which runs through Brantôme and Bourdeilles is also a very attractive and picturesque river.

Chez Denis is situated in a beautiful setting on the edge of a small village
This grand residence is located not far from Brantome, with its famous abbey and lovely riverside walks, and also not far from Bourdeilles with its 11th Century Chateau and picturesque bridge over the river.
Brantome (10km) is a bustling town set on the picturesque river Dronne. It has many attractions, including its abbey founded by Charlemagne in the early 9th century, as well as many outstanding restaurants and an interesting Friday market.
Bourdeilles (10km) is an attractive village, also on the river Dronne, with a picture-postcard bridge. There are restaurants, a bar, supermarket, boulangerie and various other shops.

The house and gite each have their own separate patio area on opposite sides of a central courtyard. The house has a large covered veranda and barbecue area at the rear with views over rolling fields and woods.
The gite has a separate patio area with mature trees providing plenty of shade for relaxing or barbecuing.
There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool situated close to both the house and gite. It is fitted with an automatic security alarm to provide protection for children when the pool is not in use.
The garden covers around 5 acres of open parkland, bounded by trees and fields, with specimen trees around the two main houses, providing shade for those hot sunny days. It is not overlooked and is very private. There is ample garden furniture for barbecues or relaxing by the pool.

|
The main house features a traditional "pigeonnier" at one corner and we're told the house is 400 years old. Both houses have been restored and equipped to a high standard with all modern conveniences.
The house and gite can be rented together, providing accommodation for up to 10 to 12 people with exclusive use of the pool and all facilities, or they can be rented separately by smaller families and groups.
Chez Denis is ideal for larger groups and families holidaying together, but who do not want to be on top of each other all the time.
Main House:
3 bedrooms - sleeps up to 8
The sitting/dining room has a large fireplace, quarry tile floor, wooden beams and exposed stones. Furnished with settees, chairs, a dining table and sideboard/cupboards.
The kitchen leads off, and is equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and generously equipped with utensils, and everything you need.
Just off the entrance hall is a cloakroom with toilet and shower - very convenient when coming in from the pool!
A wide period wooden staircase leads to the landing with the impressive master bedroom leading off. With it's high ceilings, carved fireplace and massive ceiling beams it is an outstanding feature of the house. There is an en suite shower room, double bed and two single beds.
There are two other bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other 2 single beds. Leading off the landing is a bathroom with bath and separate shower.
Gite:
1 Bedroom - sleeps 2 to 4
The gite has an enormous living/dining room with attractive white stone-flagged floor, a large open fireplace, and wood beamed ceiling. The kitchen area is equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and generously equipped with utensils and everything you need.
Leading off the main living room, there is a good size double bedroom and a shower/toilet room.
The futon in the living room converts into a comfortable double bed, providing total accommodation for up to 4 people.
An old oak front door leads from the main living area to the patio, with garden table, chairs and a barbecue. Mature trees provide plenty of shade for relaxing when the temperature rises.
Downstairs there is a large entrance hall with a second shower room/toilet leading off – very convenient when coming in from the pool – and an external door to the cental courtyard and parking area.

The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills and many delightful walks from the door. It is also wonderful cycling country and cycles are available on request.
Only 15 minutes away is the picturesque town of Brantome, with many restaurants, interesting shops, abbey and riverside walks. Bourdeilles, also 15 minutes away, is a picture-postcard village with restaurants, interesting chateau, shops, boulangerie, patisserie, etc. The nearest shop is 5 minutes away at Vieux Mareuil.
Bed linen, towels etc are provided.

The house and gite can be booked separately, or if you have a large family or group, book both together, for a holiday with exclusive use of the pool and all facilities.
