Frances history has established a great wealth of heritage châteaux, abbeys and manor houses.
French cities will give you plenty of good shopping and markets. There are plenty of pedestrianized streets to stroll around with many cafes and patisseries to enjoy.
The landscape is mostly flat with rolling hills in north and west. The rest is mountainous, especially the Pyrenees in south and the Alps in east. Skiing is a plenty with 8000 km of pistes. France also boasts 2100 miles of coastline of which 1500 are beaches.
The French climate generally comprises of cool winters and mild summers. Closer to the Mediterranean the winters become mild and the summers hot.
